The Effect of Work Motivation on Employee Performance with Job Satisfaction as an Intervening Variable

This study aims to analyze the effect of work motivation on employee performance with job satisfaction as an intervening variable on employees of the Kajen District Office, Pekalongan Regency. A quantitative approach is used to identify the relationship between the research variables, namely work motivation as an independent variable, job satisfaction as an intervening variable, and employee performance as a dependent variable. Data were collected through questionnaires from 30 respondents selected proportionally using stratified random sampling techniques. The results of the study are expected to show that work motivation has a significant influence on employee performance, both directly and through job satisfaction as an intervening variable. This study provides theoretical contributions by supporting the literature related to the relationship between work motivation, job satisfaction, and employee performance. Practically, the results of the study can be used by government agency management to formulate policies that increase employee motivation and job satisfaction in order to optimize organizational performance.
