This study aims to reveal the main linguistic mechanisms employed by authority in its discourse to influence and direct the recipient, in light of the principles of Critical Discourse Analysis. The research focuses on five main mechanisms: Mechanism of Solidarity, Mechanism of Direction, Mechanism of Allusion, Mechanism of Argumentation, and Mechanism of Religion. The study adopts a descriptive-analytical critical method, based on the works of Norman Fairclough, Abdulhadi AlShahri, and Philippe Breton. The study concludes that authoritarian discourse invariably employs these mechanisms in an overlapping manner to achieve ideological and political goals, and that understanding them represents the first line of defense for the recipient against deception and discursive domination.
